What's on in Tassie this summer

With borders opening, there’s much to entice travellers and locals looking to enjoy our island state with a varied mix of events over coming months (particularly for music and food lovers). Here’s a taster of what’s on offer:

 

Tasmania's Taste of Summer adventureTaste of Summer 28 Dec – 3 Jan 2022 (formerly Taste of Tasmania) promises to be even more Tasmanian than ever! Over 80 of the state’s finest food and drink producers and 200+ local performing artists. 

Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. Departs Sydney 1pm 26th December with the first yachts expected in Hobart as/when the weather gods decree (usually from 1.5 days onwards) . Then the waterfront party starts! 

Beerfest Launceston NYE. 31 December at Royal Park. Comedy, music and entertainment…and beer! 

Cygnet Folk Festival. 14-16 January.  Music, dance and arts festival in the Huon Valley. 

MONA FOMA. Music and art spread across two weekends and two cities. Launceston – 21-23 January | nipaluna/Hobart 28-30 January.  Program announced 3 December 

Festival of King Island adventure in TasmaniaFestival of King Island. 28 -29 January.  Music and surf, food and fun. 

By the C Concert. 4 February. Party in the Royal Botannical Gardens with Icehouse and friends. 

Lumberjack MTB 2 Day Stage Race. 12-13 February. Kellevie, South East Tasmania - single track MTB, time trials, night stages, free BBQ and live entertainment. 

2022 Auscycling MTB National Championships. 14-20 February at Maydena Bike Park.
